A love letter to the Octatrack
A love letter to the Octatrack
octabam adds community features to the Elektron Octatrack: Kits, templates, expanded scenes and parameter locks, USB audio, and new effects. You choose which features to install by building a remix from your own copy of OS 1.40C.
This manual explains the additions to stock OS. It assumes you are familiar with tracks, Parts, patterns, scenes, and the Octatrack's front panel.
First Installation
- Choose a remix for the effects and workflow you want.
- Read Safety and recovery, then back up your CF card.
- Follow Build and install to prepare and install your image.

Reading the Instructions
Bold labels identify controls and menu items. An arrow indicates a menu
path: PROJ → BRAIN → TEMPLATES. A plus sign indicates a combination:
hold FUNC while pressing the other key. Commands and filenames appear
in monospace.
Screen illustrations show captured firmware screens. Their values are examples; available features and screen labels depend on the image you run.
About the Project
octabam is unofficial community software and is not supported by Elektron. Hardware testing varies by feature and remix; emulator checks do not prove hardware behaviour. Read the test status on the relevant remix page.
Build images locally from your own OS 1.40C. Built firmware contains Elektron's software and must not be shared. Module authors are listed in Credits. Source code and technical documentation are in the repository.
